The One Stop, which serves as a central resource clearinghouse for veterans, has launched new partnerships with Department of Veterans Affairs programs in hopes of being able to better address veterans’ health needs.
For example, the One Stop has recruited the Killeen Heights Vet Center to provide free and confidential counseling to combat veterans from any war era.
Two transition patient advocates from the Doris Miller Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Waco are holding regular office hours at the downtown Waco facility to help Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans utilize VA health care programs.
And the women veterans outreach specialist for the Waco VA will help female veterans learn about and access the health care services they’re entitled to.
